Buchanan County supervisors voted 5-1 Monday night to hire Jeremy Ward of Grundy as the county’s new economic development director. He’ll get an annual salary of $96,000.
Jeff Cooper, Craig Stiltner, Trey Adkins, Lee Dotson and David Rose voted for Ward. Roger Rife voted no and Tim Hess was absent.
Ward, 44, has been the transportation supervisor for Buchanan County Public Schools since August 2022.
Before that he was a teacher and football coach at Twin Valley High School and Grundy High School.
